Several hundred demonstrators gathered in New York City's main square, Times Square, to protest US military aggression against Venezuela, APA reports.
The demonstrators came with Venezuelan flags and posters that read, "Hands off Venezuela!", "Stop bombing Venezuela!", and "USA out of the Caribbean!"
"The kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro is a provocation, a war crime, and an unacceptable act of aggression," said one protester. "It is an attack on the Venezuelan people and the sovereignty of all of Latin America."
There is a heavy police presence in the area where the event is taking place, but law enforcement officers are not blocking streets or interfering with the demonstration. The situation at the site is calm.
