About 20 Ukrainian citizens were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan starting this morning, APA’s South Bureau reports.
The evacuation is carried out based on mutual agreement. Foreign citizens passing through the "Astara" state border checkpoint are received under the escort of border guards.
Each foreigner is invited to a tea table, and if necessary, primary medical aid is provided by a standby medical team.
Since this morning, small groups of U.S. and other foreign citizens originally from Iran, as well as about 20 Ukrainian citizens, have entered the checkpoint for evacuation.
According to them, despite the morning hours, many people are still waiting to cross on the Iranian side.
