Bloomberg: Trump says US will begin blockade of ships to and from Hormuz

The United States’ plan regarding the blockade of Iranian ports has been disclosed, Bloomberg reports.

According to the document, vessels present in Iranian waters before the start of the blockade have been instructed to leave the area, otherwise they will face the risk of being “stopped, redirected and seized.”

US President Donald Trump said the United States would blockade the Strait of Hormuz following the failure of peace talks with Iran in Islamabad this weekend.

“Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of blockading any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump said in a social media post.

It should be noted that the US blockade against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz has come into force. From this moment, all vessels heading to or departing from Iranian ports will face a US military blockade.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that ships moving between non-Iranian ports will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
