Kyrgyzstan has filed a lawsuit against Russia with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Court for refusing to issue mandatory health insurance cards to family members of labor migrants, said Azamat Mukanov, head of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, at a committee meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) on January 27, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the EAEU has an agreement requiring that the mandatory health insurance card be issued not only to citizens of member states working in Russia, but also to their family members.
“The Kyrgyz side has filed a lawsuit against the Russian side for failing to comply with the requirements set out in the EAEU agreements. The mandatory health insurance card must also be issued to family members of those working in Russia,” Mukanov said.
It was also reported that the issue was raised during Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk’s visit to Kyrgyzstan.
