Men will be granted a total of 14 calendar days of paid leave before and after childbirth upon the birth of a child, based on a medical certificate, APA reports.
This is reflected in the amendments to the Labor Code, the implementation of which was approved by a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
Currently, at the request of employees, men whose wives are on maternity leave are granted up to 14 calendar days of unpaid leave within a working year. In order to ensure gender equality, the amendments envisage granting men 14 calendar days of paid leave related to the birth of a child, covering both the pre- and postnatal periods, on the basis of a medical certificate.
