The “Khankendi-1” power substation is the first enclosed-type substation built in the 110 kV voltage class in the liberated territories. All equipment and installations, including transformers, are located inside the building, Teymur Abdullayev, Head of the Public Relations Center of “AzerEnergy” OJSC, told APA’s Karabakh bureau.
The 110/35/10 kV “Khankendi-1” power substation was constructed in the city of Khankendi in line with a modern urban grid model, based on instructions from President Ilham Aliyev to create a sustainable electricity supply infrastructure in the liberated territories.
To connect Khankendi and the surrounding areas to the national power system, a total of 11 kilometers of high-voltage transmission lines were laid from the city of Shusha to Khankendi, including 1.8 kilometers of underground cable passing through difficult mountainous and forested terrain.
The substation is equipped with a state-of-the-art microprocessor-based Digital Control Center. This Micro-SCADA system was developed by specialists of AzerEnergy and was implemented for the first time in Khankendi. The system ensures real-time monitoring, control, and event tracking of high-voltage power lines and equipment.
The substation will provide a reliable and stable electricity supply to Khankendi, as well as the Aghdara, Khojaly, and Khojavend districts.
Recall that President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of AzerEnergy’s 110/35/10 kV “Khankendi-1” power substation in the city of Khankendi on December 23.
