Russia is preparing a large-scale provocation that could cause human casualties on January 7, when Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas, and will attempt to blame Ukraine for it, UNIAN writes, citing the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, APA reports.
"The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine warns that a special Russian operation is continuing to undermine the peace talks brokered by the United States. This operation is comprehensive. After the targeted attack on Putin's residence, we have noted that the Kremlin is trying to prepare Russian and foreign audiences for increased tension by spreading false information," the Service's statement said.
The agency states that the mechanism of manipulative influence by the Russian special services will turn into an armed provocation, which will result in serious human casualties.
"The provocation is expected to take place before or during the Christmas holiday. The location could be a religious building in Russia or Ukraine, as well as other places of symbolic importance," the Ukrainian Intelligence Service warned.
"In order to blame Ukraine for the upcoming attack, a downed drone belonging to Western countries will be brought to the scene from the contact line," it said.
