Azerbaijan resettles 19 more families in Shushakend village of Khojaly district, families receive house keys -PHOTO-UPDATED

The latest relocation convoy has arrived in Shushakend village in Khojaly, with the keys to the new apartments handed over to the families, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports, citing the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts.

In this stage, 19 families totaling 55 people have been relocated to Shushakend. These families had been temporarily residing for many years across various regions of the country, primarily in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.

The key handover ceremony was attended by Mahmud Afandiyev, Deputy Executive Director of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service for Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, along with other officials and village residents.

In his remarks, Afandiyev congratulated the residents on returning to their native lands under the “Great Return” program. He noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, extensive restoration and reconstruction work is being carried out rapidly in the liberated territories, with all necessary social infrastructure—including roads, water, electricity, gas, and other utilities—fully provided in the villages.

The residents expressed their joy at returning to their ancestral homes. As of today, 61 families totaling 230 people have returned to Shushakend.
