Azerbaijan relocates another 136 residents to Khojaly -PHOTO

On November 21, another relocation to the city of Khojaly took place, the public relations department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts told APA’s Karabakh bureau.

25 families consisting of 136 people have returned to their native land.

The residents were selected from families that had been settled for many years in difficult conditions in various regions of the republic. Families arriving in Khojaly were welcomed by the staff of the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, as well as officials of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts.

Speaking at the presentation of the keys to the new houses, Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, stated that the next relocation to Khojaly carries both historical and symbolic meaning: “We are witnessing another stage of the return to Khojaly, for which we have long yearned. The ‘Great Return’ program, implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, ensures the revival of life in the liberated lands. Today, the revival of Khojaly is a reflection of the strength of the Azerbaijani state and the will and unity of the people.”

According to S. Gahramanov, large-scale construction and restoration work continue in Khojaly, and the relocation is being carried out in stages. The return of people is already continuing not only to the city of Khojaly, but also to several villages of the district.
