Azerbaijan extends hunting season until March 1, 2026

A decision has been made to extend the hunting season at the next meeting of the “Coordination Council on Hunting Issues” held at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, said Arzu Babayeva, an official of the Biodiversity Conservation Service, APA reports.

She stated that the winter bird census across the country has been completed, and observations carried out by specialists have determined that bird populations remain stable. Taking into account the current situation, the characteristics of the birds’ wintering period, and requests from hunting enthusiasts, it was considered appropriate to extend the hunting season until March 1, 2026.

Babayeva emphasized that during the hunting season, citizens must strictly comply with the requirements of existing legislation and hunt only within the established limits and on the basis of legal permits. Hunting must not be allowed in prohibited areas, including national parks and state nature reserves.
