An amnesty has been applied to 14,589 people, said Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said this during a meeting of the collegium while speaking about the work carried out to implement the Decision dated December 19, 2025, adopted by the Milli Majlis (Parliament) upon the next initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, on declaring an amnesty on the occasion of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” APA reports.
He noted that it was applied to 429 people in criminal cases at the stage of preliminary investigation and court proceedings, as well as 14,160 convicted persons, totaling 14,589 people.
