OTS heads of government's meeting held in Baku, joint statement adopted - UPDATED - 1

A joint statement has been adopted at the second meeting of the prime ministers and vice presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Baku on April 2, 2026, APA reports.

The participants expressed support for Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the organization and emphasized the importance of cooperation within the OTS for peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The statement highlighted the expansion of economic and investment cooperation, increasing trade, strengthening cooperation in the areas of energy security, green energy, development of transport corridors, digitalization and innovation as priorities.

The parties supported the development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, stressed the importance of implementing adopted decisions, and welcomed Kazakhstan’s initiative to host an informal summit in Turkistan in 2026.

At the end, the participants expressed their gratitude to Azerbaijan for the high-level organization of the event.

The meeting of the heads of government of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has begun, APA reports.

The meeting is being hosted by the official Baku.

The meeting is attended by Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev, Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ünal Üstel, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.

At the event, Prime Minister Ali Asadov welcomed his counterparts from other countries, and a family photo was taken.
