Presentation of Azerbaijani culture held in Moscow

A cultural event titled “Azerbaijan: A Country of a Thousand and One Colors” was held in Moscow, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia and the International Women’s Club in Moscow.

The event, held at the embassy, was attended by the spouses of heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow, as well as representatives of the international diplomatic community and public organizations.

Delivering a speech at the event, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev noted that the program featured demonstrations of national costumes, music, dances, and examples of Azerbaijani cuisine.

“The main part of today’s project will be a display of national costumes accompanied by Azerbaijani music representing various regions of the country. Azerbaijan stands out for its great cultural diversity,” the diplomat emphasized.

The ambassador noted that Azerbaijan’s mountainous and lowland regions, diverse climatic conditions, ethnic and cultural characteristics are reflected not only in clothing, but also in language, dialects, traditions, and religious beliefs: “It is precisely this diversity that makes Azerbaijani culture rich and multifaceted.”

Rahman Mustafayev also stressed that national costumes, music, and dance are an essential part of every nation’s identity: “They help to better understand the country’s mentality, individuality, and national character. I hope the guests will gain vivid impressions and take an active part in the program.”

Guests who attended the event noted the importance of holding such initiatives regularly and their significance for promoting Azerbaijani culture.

The program showcased national costumes from various regions of Azerbaijan, traditional dances and musical works, as well as handicraft items, including the kelaghayi.

Guests were offered national cuisine, Azerbaijani sweets, and tea.
