On January 26, the Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan organized an official reception on the occasion of the country's 77th Republic Day, APA reports.
The National Anthems of Azerbaijan and India were first played at the event. Representatives of the diplomatic corps and other official guests attended the event.
Delivering the opening speech, Indian Ambassador to our country Sridharan Madhusudhanan touched upon the importance of the event and said that the 77th Republic Day is an important event for them, the foundation of democracy and progress.
According to the Ambassador, India and Azerbaijan have deep civilizational and cultural ties, which were further strengthened by a number of high-level interactions in 2025: "In February 2025, the Indian Parliamentary Delegation participated in the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly hosted by the Milli Majlis in Baku. In July 2025, a delegation of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India visited Azerbaijan to participate in the 62nd Governing Council Meeting of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) held in Baku, as well as the first joint meeting with the Organization of Arab Supreme Audit Institutions.
