On January 30, 2026, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov received the professional staff of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, MFA told APA.
The meeting discussed the current regional situation, the significance of the agreements reached within the framework of the August 8 Washington Peace Summit, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and the measures taken regarding the peace agreement, the draft U.S.-Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership Charter, which is nearing completion, as well as other issues on the bilateral agenda that are of mutual interest.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on initiatives raised in Congress regarding Azerbaijan, and the importance of repealing Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act with respect to Azerbaijan was emphasized.
