Azerbaijan's Economic Council discusses First State Program on Great Return

A meeting of the Economic Council was held today, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.

At the meeting held under the leadership of Chairman of the Economic Council, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, the agenda included a detailed discussion of the instructions stemming from the extensive interview given by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to local television channels on January 5, 2026, as well as the socio-economic development indicators for 2025, the Economic Council’s Action Plan for 2026, the “Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026,” and the report on the monitoring and evaluation results for 2025 of the “First State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the presentation by the “Working Group on Removing Barriers and Difficulties to Entrepreneurial Activity and Reforming the Business Environment,” the 2025 Activity Report of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication and its Action Plan for 2026, and other current issues.

Reports on the agenda items were heard from Natig Amirov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication. Members of the Economic Council, as well as Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov, also delivered speeches on the issues presented at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, decisions were adopted taking into account the opinions and proposals of the members of the Economic Council, and relevant instructions were given to the responsible bodies.
