Ambassadors of the European Union member states have approved the imposition of sanctions against Iran, APA reports, citing Radio Liberty.
According to the information, this decision is related to the brutal suppression of protests in the country, which resulted in the deaths of thousands of people and Iran's support for Russia in the war against Ukraine.
"EU ambassadors have given the green light to sanctions against Tehran in connection with the suppression of protests in Iran - 15 people and 6 organizations are targeted. In addition, separate sanctions have been imposed against those who supported the war against Ukraine in Iran - 4 people and 6 organizations," said Radio Liberty editor Rikard Jozwiak.
