The trial of Altay Goyushov, who is accused of making public calls directed against the state, has begun, APA reports.
At today’s hearing held at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Eldar Ismayilov, the questionnaire (personal) details were clarified.
The criminal case has been submitted for judicial review, and the trial hearing has been scheduled for January 7.
It should be noted that a decision has been adopted to bring Altay Goyushov as an accused person under Article 281.2 of the Criminal Code (public calls directed against the state, when committed repeatedly or by a group of persons).
It was stated that, since he had fled the investigation and was hiding outside the territory of Azerbaijan, he was declared wanted in connection with the filing of charges against him.
By a decision of the Binagadi District Court dated February 23 of this year, a preventive measure in the form of arrest in absentia was chosen in relation to him. On September 17, additions and amendments were made to the content of the charge, and a decision was adopted to bring Altay Goyushov as an accused person under Article 281.2 of the Criminal Code.
It was noted that on April 20, 2020, on the “YouTube” internet platform on a channel called “Duz Danisaq,” and on September 2, 2024 and January 1, 2025, on the Facebook channel titled “Altay Goyushov,” acting together in advance with other persons as a group, he made and disseminated public calls encouraging the use of force against the existing authorities in Azerbaijan that were formed and are operating on a lawful basis.
