Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan discuss current state of cooperation

On July 3, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov within the framework of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in the city of Khankendi, MFA told APA.

During the meeting, the role and importance of high-level reciprocal visits and contacts between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in further developing bilateral relations were highlighted.

Discussions were held on regional security issues, cooperation within international organizations, as well as collaboration concerning the Caspian Sea.

The sides exchanged views on opportunities to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, transport, humanitarian affairs, and culture.

It was agreed that the traditional friendship and brotherhood historically existing between the peoples of the two countries would continue to develop further within the framework of a strong Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan partnership.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
