State Service issues statement on threats to Azerbaijan's information security

Internet connectivity and information security are ensured in Azerbaijan, the Special Communication and Information Security State Service (SCISSS) said in a statement, APA reports.

It was noted that, in light of recent events, some media outlets have been spreading information regarding the potential disruption of Azerbaijan's connection to the global internet network and possible threats to information security.

In response to these concerns, we would like to clarify that the country’s main internet providers have ensured connections to the global internet network through multiple geographically diverse alternative routes, taking into account the capacity of the exchanged internet traffic.

Therefore, Azerbaijan’s internet traffic is not dependent on any single country.

“At the same time, we would like to inform that the principle of redundancy has been applied to the internet provision of state information resources operating through the AzstateNet network, and measures related to information security are monitored 24/7 by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service,” the statement said.
