Armenia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against citizens who obstructed the National Security Service’s attempt to arrest Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan, APA reports citing Armenian media.
The Committee stated that the actions of these individuals are considered interference with justice. It reminded that criminal liability applies for interference with lawful activities of law enforcement agencies and called on citizens to obey the law when expressing their views.
It was also noted that a criminal case has been opened against Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan. Searches were conducted at his residence in Gyumri.
