Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on June 10, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.
Ali Asadov conveyed the greetings of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the head of state of Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked that his own greetings be conveyed to the President of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the dynamic development of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and the importance of elevating ties to the level of alliance was emphasized.
The sides discussed the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
Ali Asadov also congratulated President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Uzbekistan’s national football team qualifying for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in history.
