The threat created by Israel in the Caspian Sea basin is unacceptable for Russia, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova at a briefing today, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
She noted that she was not aware of reports about Israel carrying out another strike on Iran’s air defense system facilities along the Caspian Sea coast.
Zakharova recalled Russia’s position on the issue.
The Foreign Ministry official emphasized that the Caspian Sea is a zone free from any military confrontation: “The threats created by Israel in the Caspian Sea area, including those affecting trade and the transportation of goods, are unacceptable for us.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that the threat created by Israel should be strongly condemned by all Caspian littoral states.
