A person wanted on an international search has been extradited to Azerbaijan, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
The Prosecutor General’s Office’s request for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Zameddin Bafadar oglu Ibrahimov was granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation in accordance with the requirements of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters dated October 7, 2002.
It was noted that within the criminal case under preliminary investigation by the Sumgait Military Prosecutor’s Office, reasonable suspicions were established that Zamedin Ibrahimov had committed fraud. A decision was made to charge him as an accused person, and since he fled and went into hiding from the investigation, he was placed on an international wanted list.
Zameddin Ibrahimov was detained in the territory of the Russian Federation and brought to Azerbaijan under the escort of a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
