The issue of withdrawing Russian troops from the airport in Qamishli falls within the authority of the Russian Ministry of Defense, said Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the Russian President, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, Vladimir Putin and Ahmed al-Sharaa will discuss the presence of Russian troops in Syria.
“As for the matters related to the deployment of our Armed Forces on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic, this falls within the competence of the Ministry of Defense,” Peskov said, recommending that inquiries on this issue be addressed to the Ministry of Defense.
Peskov also did not comment on the question of Damascus's request for the extradition of Bashar al-Assad.
