“Processes taking place in the world are creating new challenges, and each state is adapting to them and taking appropriate steps," said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, at a press conference on the results of the year, APA reports.
The minister said that the events in Syria a year ago are still fresh in memory: “Immediately after that, changes occurred in the context of Azerbaijan–Syria relations. Prior to that, there had been no relations between Azerbaijan and the Bashar al-Assad regime. This was due to unfriendly actions toward us. However, changes took place, and after 13 years, Azerbaijan’s embassy in Syria was restored. Gas exports from Azerbaijan to Syria have resumed. Syria became the 14th country to which Azerbaijan supplies gas via pipeline.”
Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan will always follow the processes taking place in the world and take steps in line with our national interests.
