The Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy held an event on the establishment and approval of the charter of the Green Corridor Union LLC between AzerEnergy OJSC, Kazakhstan Electric Grid Operating Company, and National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan OJSC for the implementation of the Azerbaijan-Central Asia Green Energy Corridor project, the Ministry told APA.
Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov spoke about the importance of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the field of development and transmission of green energy between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan signed by the Heads of State within the framework of the COP29, as well as the Implementation Program between the three countries and the Ministries of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the relevant project. It was noted that Azerenergy OJSC, Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC) and National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan OJSC established a joint venture - Green Corridor Union LLC, which will operate in Baku. It was noted that the implementation of the project will play an important role in ensuring energy security, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for our countries and the green energy agenda. During the meeting, discussions were held on the activities of the Joint Venture.
Then the signing ceremony of the document on the establishment of Green Corridor Union LLC was held. The document was signed by Vice-President of Azerenergy OJSC Ziyaddin Guliyev, Head of the Department of Kazakhstan Electric Network Operating Company Saltanat Shunayeva and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Electric Network of Uzbekistan Feruz Kurbonov. It was agreed to appoint Farhad Mammadov as the Head (General Director) of the Green Corridor Union LLC.
