Saudi representative: Our country has embarked on an unprecedented urban transformation

Thanks to the ambitious “Vision 2030” and determined leadership, Saudi Arabia has embarked on an unprecedented urban transformation, a representative of Saudi Arabia said during the ministers’ meeting held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.

“This transformation has made quality of life and sustainability the main priorities of development.

This journey did not remain limited to plans, but turned into concrete achievements. We increased the homeownership rate from 47% to more than 66% and supported one million families in Saudi Arabia through innovative housing solutions.

We launched quality development programs. The social housing program supported families in need and enabled more than 50,000 families to own homes. Thus, they moved from need to stability and from assistance to empowerment.

At the center of this transformation, we placed people first. We raised the urban accessibility index to above 75% and redesigned streets not for cars, but for people. We created more vibrant cities, safer streets, and wider public spaces.

We are open to the world and believe that the future of cities is built through international partnerships, knowledge exchange, and joint efforts. Today, our cities are a story of transformation, and tomorrow they will become a model for the world,” the Saudi representative said.
