Headquarters and working groups consisting of senior MES officials established in connection with WUF13

The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku, will once again draw the world’s attention to Baku, while demonstrating our country’s high international prestige, Deputy Head of the Main Operations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Agali Huseynov said in a statement to APA.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations is successfully fulfilling the tasks assigned to it in connection with preparations for the session.

For this purpose, a Headquarters represented by senior officials of the Ministry and working groups consisting of professional specialists in relevant fields within its structure were established at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and an Action Plan was prepared and approved:

“In order to ensure the high-level implementation of the tasks set under the approved Action Plan, the relevant forces of the Ministry have been mobilized from the very first day. Within this framework, inspections and monitoring in the areas of fire, technical, construction, and radiation safety at facilities have been carried out by the structures of the Ministry within their authority in order to reliably ensure the safety of the population, including guests, awareness-raising activities have been conducted, and necessary measures have been taken for rapid response to possible emergencies and in other directions,” Agali Huseynov said.

The deputy head added that the relevant structures of the Ministry, including fire-rescue bodies, have implemented necessary measures during the past period for the successful fulfillment of tasks within the framework of preparations for WUF13: “Thus, in accordance with the Action Plan approved by the Headquarters established at the Ministry, the existing operational situation was studied in detail in order to ensure rapid and effective response capabilities to possible emergencies, efficient distribution of personnel was carried out, and necessary measures were taken to maintain equipment and devices at the level of full combat readiness. In addition, in order to further enhance the combat and professional training level of the personnel, numerous drills were conducted at various facilities, including hotels, metro stations, shopping and entertainment centers, and other places where people gather in large numbers, and condition-appropriate simulations were carried out under various scenarios.”
