NGO Agency invites partner institutions from Turkic states to announce joint grant competitions for NGOs

“I invite partner institutions from Turkic states to announce joint grant competitions for NGOs," said Fuad Mammadov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Agency on State Support to NGOs, at the 2nd Cooperation Forum of NGOs of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), APA reports.

“As the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Agency on State Support to NGOs, I declare from this platform that we are ready to announce joint grant competitions for NGOs with Turkic states on both bilateral and multilateral bases. We are ready to discuss initiatives in this direction and organize this work in a short period of time. The mechanism in joint grant competitions is not complicated at all: the parties organize the competition in accordance with their local normative rules, and a condition is set before the NGO that the projects should be implemented in the relevant partner country,” he noted.

He noted that yesterday in Kazakhstan, at the informal Summit meeting of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, the leaders of the Turkic states once again delivered messages of unity, strength, and solidarity to the whole world: “I would like to repeat exactly these words expressed by President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev in his inauguration speech. ‘We have no other family. Our family is the Turkic world.  It is a vast geography, an extensive territory, a large military prowess, a substantial economy, natural resources, transportation routes, a young and growing population, and peoples from the same roots. Can there be a stronger union than this?". Today, the Turkic world is in a period of rise, and the opportunities and prospects before us are expanding more and more. Our friendly and brotherly peoples, committed to the ideas of peace, security, stability, and progress, are united by common ethnic roots, history, language, culture, traditions, and values.”

Fuad Mammadov also stated that the formation and development of a highly cultured society will increase the power of the Turkic world: “I am a culturologist by profession. I have devoted my life and academic scientific activity to issues of culture. High spiritual culture, that is, the intersection of the intellectual and moral culture of our friendly and brotherly peoples, is our main strength. Turkic civilization is a great civilization with its own unique place in world history, deep philosophy, and traditions of statehood. In this regard, the Order signed by the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev on holding the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress carried special significance and became a historically important document. The First Turkology Congress created a new stage in the cultural integration of Turkic peoples. President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev announced yesterday at the informal Summit meeting of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States held in the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan, that the ‘Week of the Turkic World’ dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress, which made a great contribution to the scientific and cultural unity of Turkic peoples, will also be held in Baku in June this year. This event will become a landmark occasion in the cultural life of our peoples.”
