Cevdet Yilmaz: Peace in South Caucasus will further strengthen ties among Turkic states

The formation of a peaceful environment in the South Caucasus will further strengthen relations between Turkic states and Türkiye, said Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz in a statement to journalists in Baku, APA reports.

“We aim to increase trade among Turkic states through the simplification of customs procedures in the field of trade, expansion of transport opportunities, and new trade agreements. Currently, the share of intra-trade among these countries is just over 6%, and we want to raise it to a higher level.

We hope to maintain our stability without being drawn into tensions in the region and to continue our path of development. In this context, I would also like to emphasize that President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev are very experienced and determined leaders. In such difficult and unstable times, leadership comes to the forefront even more,” Cevdet Yilmaz noted.
