According to this year’s plan, military parades accompanied by military orchestras were held on the central streets, avenues, and squares of Baku, Sumgayit, Nakhchivan, Khankendi, Shusha, and Lachin to mark the fifth anniversary of Victory Day, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Defense.
Before the marches, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and those who were martyred for the homeland. The State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The marches, conducted under the sounds of patriotic songs and military marches performed by the orchestras, were met with great interest and applause from citizens.

Servicemen will march along the following routes until 12:00:
Alley of Martyrs – “Flame Towers” Complex – “Icherisheher” metro station – Gala Gate – Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre – Azneft Square – Bahram Gur monument;
Q. Musabayov Park – Abdurrahim Bey Hagverdiyev Street – Huseyn Javid Avenue – Huseyn Javid Park – Parliament Avenue – Martyrs’ Alley;
“Olympic Star” Sports and Entertainment Center – Samed Vurghun Street – Officers’ Park – Baku State Circus – Heydar Aliyev Palace – I. Nasimi monument – Neftchilar Avenue.
