Saudi Arabian Ambassador: There is great interest in Arabic language in Azerbaijan

In the Middle Ages, Azerbaijani scholars, writers, and poets wrote valuable works in Arabic, making great contributions to the enrichment of Islamic culture, said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan, Issam bin Saleh Al-Jutaily, at the opening ceremony of 'Arabic Language Month' at Baku State University (BSU), APA reports.

"It is pleasing that there is still great interest in the Arabic language in Azerbaijan today. Currently, Arabic is taught in 10 general education schools and 6 prestigious universities in the country.

We believe that the Arabic language will continue to serve as a bridge between cultures and peoples. It will serve to knowledge and sciences, the strengthening of identity, cultural diversity, dialogue, and world peace. Additionally, it will strengthen human closeness between our countries and peoples," the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to our country noted.

Note that today the opening ceremony of the “Arabic Language Month” was held at Baku State University. The event, organized at the initiative of the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language operating in Saudi Arabia, was attended by ambassadors of 12 Arab countries, rectors of several universities, and official representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, as well as the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan.
