Iranian official: Although we welcome peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, we oppose intervention of non-regional forces

The interference of “foreign countries” does not contribute to lasting security in the South Caucasus, said Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, APA reports, citing Sputnik Armenia.

“Iran, emphasizing the importance of strengthening peace and stability in the region, has welcomed the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and, while declaring its unwavering position on respecting the territorial integrity of countries, believes that the interference of foreign states in the affairs of the region will not contribute to lasting security,” Reza Aref said.
