OPEC raises global oil demand forecast for next year

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has updated its forecast for the average daily global oil demand for the years 2025-2026 APA-Economics reports citing OPEC's monthly report.

The forecast indicates that this figure will be 105.14 million barrels this year (the forecast remains unchanged), which is 1.29 million barrels more compared to the 2024 forecast figure.

Along with this, OPEC has announced its forecast for daily global oil demand for the next year. The organization estimates that this figure will be at the level of 106.52 million barrels (previous forecast figure – 106.42), which is 1.38 million barrels more compared to the 2025 forecast figure.

According to the report, last year’s daily global oil demand was at the level of 103.84 million barrels, which means an increase of 1.63 million barrels compared to the 2023 figure.

Recall that in 2023, global daily oil demand was at the level of 102.21 million barrels, which is 2.55 million barrels more in an annual comparison.
