During an operation carried out by officers of the Garadagh District Police Department against the sale and illegal circulation of narcotics, 33-year-old Mirza Mirzayev was detained, APA reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A total of 16 kilograms and 145 grams of marijuana were found on him.
The detainee stated that he had obtained the drugs for sale from an Iranian citizen he had met on the social network Instagram. It was revealed that Mirzayev had previously also been recruited by the same person to act as a courier and had organized the illegal distribution of narcotics in the capital.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Garadagh District Police Department under the relevant article of the Criminal Code.
