Nargiz Garajayeva: Jabrayil, Gubadli, Zangilan being developed using compact logistics model

The districts of Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan are being developed according to a compact and pedestrian-oriented logistics model, where key services are concentrated within walking distance, Nargiz Garajayeva, Senior Adviser to the Special Representation of the President of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, said during an event held within the framework of World Urban Forum 13 in Baku.

Olaylar quotes her as saying new villages are being designed so that residents can reach the center of the settlement on foot within just 15 minutes.

She emphasized that within the "smart village" concept, all key infrastructure - kindergartens, schools, banking and postal services, cafés, and green zones - is concentrated in the center of settlements.

Garajayeva noted that neighboring villages are connected through a shared infrastructure network, with large park zones being created between them. As an example, she cited the villages of Aghali and Mammadbayli in the Zangilan district, where shared green spaces are being used, which, according to her, improves both economic efficiency and living comfort.

"Work is also underway to restore water resources in the region. In Jabrayil, canals have been restored to provide the population with access to natural drinking water. The use of mineral and spring water sources creates potential for developing the region as a tourist destination, including ecotourism, as well as historical and educational tourism. All these efforts to restore Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur are based on the main goal - ensuring the permanent return of people to their native lands and creating conditions for environmentally safe and sustainable living," she said.
