The 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is being held at a decisive moment for the international community, Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, said during the Leaderschr("39") Summit at WUF13 in Baku, Olaylar informs.
Guliyev highlighted that cities today stand at the center of challenges such as climate change, housing accessibility, migration, infrastructure resilience, and social solidarity: "That is why WUF13 carries great importance. This yearchr("39")s forum marks a historic stage. For the first time, at Azerbaijanchr("39")s initiative, a special leaderschr("39") session has been convened at the level of heads of state and government."
He emphasized that WUF13 demonstrates Azerbaijanchr("39")s commitment to sustainable urban development: "Hosting WUF13 is both a great honor and a profound responsibility for Azerbaijan. It reflects our dedication to advancing sustainable urban development, rebuilding and revitalizing our cities and communities, and strengthening international cooperation through dialogue and partnership."
He added that todaychr("39")s leaderschr("39") session creates a unique opportunity to shape a shared vision for the future of cities and to reinforce global commitment to the implementation of the New Urban Agenda: "I thank each of you for your participation and wish us all a productive and inspiring session."
