The latest situation regarding the evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens from Iran has been announced, Emil Safarov, head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told APA’s Türkiye bureau.
According to him, despite the closure of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Iran due to the crisis situation, the evacuation of citizens continues. The ministry official noted that hundreds of citizens have been evacuated to Azerbaijan to date.
“There is currently a crisis situation. In this regard, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran has been evacuated to Azerbaijan. However, we continue to provide consular services to our citizens in Iran as much as possible. We have ensured the evacuation of hundreds of Azerbaijani citizens from Iran. If applications are submitted to the ministry, they are fulfilled. Necessary measures for the evacuation of our citizens from Iran are currently ongoing. Applications from both citizens in Iran and their relatives living in Azerbaijan are being reviewed,” the ministry official said.
