If we look at the funds allocated under 'Environmental Protection' in the 2024 state budget, climate change-related expenditures amounted to 339.7 million manats, APA-Economics reports citing the Ministry of Finance.
87.4% of this amount, i.e., 297 million manats, were categorized as mixed or neutral expenditures, which are expenditures that can have both positive and negative effects according to various environmental criteria. At the same time, 12.6% of these expenditures, or 42.7 million manats, were green expenditures.
It was noted that the amount of climate change-related expenditures under the "Agriculture" sector was 1,075.2 million manats. 100% of these expenditures fall into the mixed category. In 2024, total climate change-related expenditures in the “Environmental Protection” and “Agriculture” sectors amounted to 1,414.9 million manats, of which 1,395.2 million manats were for adaptation measures and 19 million manats for mitigation measures.
In 2024, SDG-related expenditures in the "Education", "Agriculture" and "Environmental Protection" sectors amounted to 5,773.4 million manat.
