Over 60 Azerbaijani citizens cross Iran border, 34 in Israel to enter Jordan - MFA

Hotlines established at Azerbaijan’s embassies in Israel and Iran, as well as its Consulate General in Tabriz, are processing daily appeals in connection with the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Iran, said Aykhan Hajizada, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

MFA spokesperson noted that efforts are ongoing to secure the necessary permits for Azerbaijani citizens and foreign nationals seeking to leave Iran via land borders: "Our citizens in Israel are being redirected to neighboring Egypt and Jordan."

According to Aykhan Hajizada, to date, Azerbaijan’s Embassy and Consulate General in Iran have received nearly 500 requests from Azerbaijani citizens, with over 60 having successfully crossed the border: "In addition, more than 1,200 appeals from citizens of 51 countries are currently under review, and permits for their border crossings are being arranged. Measures have also been taken to facilitate the transfer of 34 Azerbaijani citizens from Israel to Jordan."
