Azerbaijan relocates next group of former IDPs to Aghdam, families receive house keys - PHOTO - UPDATED - 1

Another relocation to the city of Aghdam took place on May 26, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

At this stage, 110 families, totaling 417 people, were relocated to the city.

At a ceremony organized in the city of Aghdam, the relocated families were presented with the keys to their apartments.

Representatives of the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts, as well as representatives of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, participated in the event.

Note that the relocated families had been temporarily settled in various parts of the republic for many years. In accordance with the state program, the phased return to the territories liberated from occupation continues.

The Great Return programme to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories continues in line with instructions from President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.

The latest group of former internally displaced persons has departed for the city of Aghdam. The families had been living temporarily in various parts of the country, primarily in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings.

As part of this phase of the resettlement programme, 110 families comprising 417 people have been relocated to Aghdam.

Residents returning to their hometown expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state support provided during the resettlement process.

They also thanked the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, including the soldiers and officers who took part in the liberation of the country’s territories, and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the process.
