The State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have conducted a joint anti-drug operation, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
On May 23, as a result of complex operational and military measures jointly carried out by officers of the State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs within the service area of the “Lankaran” border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service, an attempt to smuggle 38 kilograms and 130 grams of narcotic substances and 2,890 psychotropic Methadone M-40 pills from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented.
Operational-investigative measures on the fact are ongoing.
