The United Nations continues to support demining activities in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed said during the official closing press conference of WUF13, APA-Economics reports.
She stated that the reconstruction and reintegration programs being implemented in Karabakh fall under the authority of the Azerbaijani government and serve to ensure sustainable peace.
Amina Mohammed noted that the UN is currently providing support to Azerbaijan in the field of demining.
“This is very important work. The process will take a long time. At the same time, this work is part of building trust and creating safer communities for people,” the UN Deputy Secretary-General stressed.
According to her, creating a safe living environment is one of the key conditions for people to return to their homes and communities.
