“53,500 participants were registered at WUF13 held in Baku, Anar Guliyev, National Coordinator of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) and Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said at the official closing press conference of WUF13, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, approximately 50,000 participants attended the forum in person, while more than 3,000 participated online.
Anar Guliyev stated that more than 400 main events were organized within the framework of the forum, and around 400 speakers from 125 countries addressed the main program.
The committee chairman noted that the Leaders’ Declaration session, held for the first time in WUF history at the initiative of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, was one of the forum’s most important innovations.
According to him, 27 heads of state and government, as well as leaders of international organizations, participated in the session and demonstrated political support for the global urban agenda.”
