Ukrainian representative: Our country has become a testing ground for reconstruction during wartime

Ukraine has become a testing ground for new models of resilience, reconstruction and adaptation amid the ongoing war and crisis, Alissa Bankovska, President of the Ukrainian chapter of the International Real Estate Federation, said during an event held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.

“Recovery cannot be measured only by the number of rebuilt buildings. Recovery must reduce future risks, strengthen communities, support local economies and create long-term resilience,” she stated.

Providing information about the “Rebuild Green 2030” program, Bankovska noted that the initiative brings together municipalities, professionals, universities, industry representatives and international partners to work on practical recovery solutions.

According to her, during the first phase of the program, efforts focused on forming the recovery ecosystem, establishing partnerships and preparing pilot projects, while the second phase of the project is now being launched.

“Over the next two years, the program will focus on implementing real projects in the areas of participatory recovery models, sustainable and affordable housing, circular construction, local economic resilience and public-private partnership,” the Ukrainian representative said.

Bankovska called on international organizations, investors, professional institutions and municipalities to join the process.

“Transformative recovery can only be possible through cooperation between different sectors, professions and countries,” she emphasized.
