“Khankendi, Khojaly and Aghdara have remained in our memory for 30 years with pain and genocides," Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President in the city of Khankendi, and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, said at the event titled “Post-conflict urban planning: Restoring destroyed identity and rebuilding an integrated future” held at the Azerbaijan pavilion within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), APA reports.
The Special Representative noted that consistent and purposeful reconstruction work is currently being carried out in these territories.
Elchin Yusubov also announced the number of families who returned to Khankendi, Khojaly and Aghdara. Thus, 71 families (302 people) returned to Khankendi, 857 families (3,341 people) to Aghdara, and 1,083 families (4,510 people) to Khojaly.
