President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Deryageldi Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, on May 17, APA reports.
Deryageldi Orazov conveyed the greetings of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Azerbaijani leader.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and requested that his own regards be conveyed to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, Deryageldi Orazov extended his congratulations on the occasion of Azerbaijan hosting the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
The head of state once again expressed his gratitude for Turkmenistan's initiative to build a mosque in Fuzuli, noting that its construction is currently underway.
He emphasized during the conversation that these territories were completely destroyed and cities were razed to the ground by Armenia during the period of occupation. He further noted that large-scale restoration and reconstruction projects are in progress in those areas.
Deryageldi Orazov stated that he would visit the liberated territories once again to familiarize himself with the ongoing development projects directly onsite.
