President Ilham Aliyev met with delegation led by President of Kenya - UPDATED

On May 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with a delegation led by President of the Republic of Kenya William Samoei Ruto, APA reports.

Noting that it was his first visit to Azerbaijan, the President of Kenya expressed gratitude to the head of state for the invitation to the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).

William Samoei Ruto stated that the World Urban Forum was first held in Kenya and highlighted that his country also hosts the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), noting the implementation of large-scale human settlements projects in his country.

Welcoming the dynamic development of bilateral relations, President William Samoei Ruto invited President Ilham Aliyev to pay an official visit to Kenya.

The invitation was accepted with gratitude, and President Ilham Aliyev also extended an invitation to the Kenyan President to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan.

The President of Kenya congratulated the Azerbaijani leader on his efforts in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Expressing his appreciation, President Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan continues its efforts to further strengthen the peace agenda and ensure lasting peace in the region.

During the meeting, the sides highlighted broad prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kenya in the fields of energy, defense industry, agriculture, and other areas. The importance of recent reciprocal visits at various levels in strengthening bilateral relations was also emphasized.
