“Equal Opportunities in Technology” project launched in Azerbaijan for first time

The “Equal Opportunities in Technology” project is being implemented in Azerbaijan for the first time after Türkiye, Chairman of the Management Board of Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan Mete Shamil Ozturk said during an event held in Baku within the framework of the program, APA-Economics reports.

He noted that the project, launched jointly by Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)-affiliated CIFAL Istanbul and Bahçeşehir University (BAU), aims to strengthen the role of women in the field of technology.

“Our program equips participants with a wide range of skills that will prepare them not only for today’s world but also for the future. Implementing this program in Azerbaijan for the first time after Türkiye is a source of particular pride for us. As Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan, we are very pleased to be part of the global development vision of Koç Holding and Yapı Kredi,” he said.

The chairman added that within the framework of initiatives carried out by Koç Holding, the bank’s main shareholder, special importance is given to women’s development, and the targets set under the project have been achieved ahead of schedule.

“In line with the strong commitments made by Koç Holding within the ‘Generation Equality Forum,’ a target was set to reach 80,000 women by the end of 2026. Thanks to these initiatives, significant results have been achieved in expanding women’s opportunities in education, technology, and various fields, and we have already reached this target,” he emphasized.
